A person I admire

Louis Pasteur was a French microbiologist. He was born on December 27,1822, en Dole, France. He
was son of a poor tanner and entered to the École Normale Supérieure at his second try.

In 1848, Pasteur was examining tiny crystals of tartaric acid and he noticed there were two types of crystals, both almost exactly the same, but with mirror simetry, like our hands. This was the first time anyone explained chirality.

He development the germinal theory of infectious diseases, after six years of  finding the cause of a silkworm disease in southern France. This theory, which sounds very "obvious" for us, was a real revolution in that time proposing  that microorganisms are the cause of a wide range of diseases.
In 1879, Pasteur inoculated chicken against colera, inventing the vaccines principle.

I like Louis Pasteur because he was very passionate in what he did, many times Pasteur had wrong ideas, but anyway he brought them out, he was able to tell his ideas even when everyone in the scientific world thought he was wrong and bravery is needed to do those things.
